2 turbo's. mini and full upright. sale/trade/deal
« on: June 05, 2004, 07:12:43 pm »
I have a turbo mini and a turbo upright. both have working boards. the big one is all there but needs a new wheel. the chrome is there but some one poped the ring off. I have it. It might go back on.  that and I have a mini. It needs a 13" monitor. if someone hooked it up with a monitor so I could play the little one we could work something out on the big one :)  thanks

location? location? Location?

Hmm, profile puts you in Michigan.

Hmm, interested in a trade of any kind? Maybe we could meet in the middle. I am in St. Louis.

what I really need is a monitor so I can make the mini playable.

I don't have the right monitor fo the mini (needs a 14" nanoa to be 100 percent correct). But I would certainly be interested in trading for either one or both of them.

I have the following available for trade.

Sprint 2. (needs pcb repair)
Atari Basketball (needs PCB repair)
Stargate cabinet (painted over, has populated panel, missing everything else).
Amazing Maze mame cabinet (has 15" monitor in it, no computer, no encoder, it is wired, and has new/rebuilt wico sticks and new happ buttons in streetfighter layout).

if ya had one game that looked decent and worked well then I'd go ahead. I have to many things to try and fit another that needs work.. ill kepp it all in mind though ;)

Ok, no big deal there.

Let me know if you decide to part the upright out. I would be interested in buying everything except the cabinet.

I've seen the mini and it's in pretty awesome shape. Breaks my heart that the monitor doesn't work. Someones going to get a great machine if I don't get to it first ;)

My brother has a fully restored turbo upright with pooched boards--let me send off your info and see if he has anything to trade.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Oh, here is what to do about your mini.

Get yourself to an arcade auction. Hope and pray that there is a lot of grey market gambling stuff. If there is, then you are in luck. Look for a 13" gambler with board problems (garbage on the screen). You can probably get it cheap. Put the monitor (will likely be a late model monitor with some mild burn, but many years of service left), in the Turbo, sell the video poker harness, PCB, power supply, control panel, and monitor plexi, which SHOULD pay for the machine. Then you can use the cabinet with a 14-17" PC monitor to make a cheap Mame cabinet.
