Hiscores disappeared!

Ok, so I updated my MAME, Mamewah and roms. I retained all my hiscores in the hiscore folder, but some of them don't work now. Donkey Kong Jr., Dig Dug, and a few others. any ideas as to why this is happening? Do I need to get a new hiscore.dat to bring back the scores?

Man, I have competitions for hiscores on these games with friends! I need them back!

It may be because you updated your Mame.  Sometimes the different versions don't play well with the old config files and nv files.

Check the hiscore.dat site.  I'm pretty sure Donkey Kong was one of the latest changed games.  You probably need the latest hiscore.dat, and you might need to delete your old .hi files to get it working again.  Sorry . . .
