Where to buy coin door locks??
« on: June 01, 2004, 11:58:15 am »
Hi all, I just received my used Happ over/under coin door and it is in good working condition with one exception. It has no locks for either door! I'm sure Happ sells the lock and key sets, but I'm assuming they're rather expensive. i was wondering if I could use a mailbox door lock? Anyone have expertise or experience in this area???? Thanks!
MAME me!

Peale, Thanks for the quick response!!!! One question. What is the difference between single bitted and double bitted barrels??? I'm assuming that keyed alinke means that the same key works for all of these locks? That's not really a big deal, I'm not too worried that someone who bought your locks will break into my house to open my coin door! LOL

Single vs double bitted means that the lock has tumblers on each side with the double, and on one side with the single.  Your car key is likely double, and your house key single, for a comparison.

And yes, keyed alike means that one key will fit all that particular lock.

I got mine from Home Depot. Had to ask for cabinet locks. Cost 3-4$ and I was able to find many with the same key.
