Microcenter is running the following special in their stores until 6/13/04 (at least the Atlanta stores, don't know about on-line)

Soyo K7VME MATX KT400 XP motherboard - Regularly $69, on sale for $10 after $10 instant and $50 mail-in rebate.

XP 2400+ OEM Processor - $80.00

XP 2800+ Barton OEM Processor - $120

But Microcenter has a $100 mail in rebate when you buy a motherboard and processor on a new Microcenter Visa.

So if you have an AGP card, CPU fan, and DDR memory, the XP2400+ processor and motherboard nets out at $10 profit, and the XP2800+ Barton nets out at $30.

Thought you might want to know.

That is good to know.  Shame I don't have a Microcenter around here.  Never even heard of them.

www.microcenter.com , don't know if there's one near you, or if it can be done on-line.

I wasn't really interested in the motherboard, but it's actually pretty nice:

KM400 chipset so it has on-board video plus an 8X AGP slot,

2 DDR Slots, 166Mhz FSB, 2 PCI slots, AC97 sound, 10/100Mbs LAN socket, 4 rear panel USB 2.0 ports and headers for 2 others.

Pretty nice overall.

Nearest to me is Boston.

Ah well, I have bad luck with rebates, so I guess I'll sit this one out.
