Control panel in need of HELP

Okay so I never used a router before and this is what happened...

As I was routing out a square shape inset on the underside of my control panel for the joystick to "sit in", the router tip slowly started sliding out.  Apparently I didn't tighten it enough.  So instead of shaving off 1/4" of MDF & leaving 1/2" on the underside, I only have like 1/8" mdf left on the underside (its pretty much paper thin).

I'm afraid that during heavy play the joystick will eventually just pull right out of the control panel, and all I'll have left is a piece of crap scrap wood.

1)  Do I redo the control panel from scratch?  After all I only have the top cutout.  See my website.

2)  Is there something I could do to fill it in and make the 1/8" that is left stronger?  Like maybe wood-filler or something?

rebuild it. i know it seems like a pain in the ass, but after its finished right you will be proud. and you wont have that lingering thought that the panel will self destruct in the middle of game play.

I vote #2. Wood filler or bondo will fix it right up.

I used bondo on a button hole I drilled wrong. It's solid as a rock. It routes really well too. You should get the 2 part bondo wood filler. It's about 15.00 dollars.

Where can I get that stuff?  I live in Canada we have nothing, well close to nothing, well sometimes it feels like nothing.

I get it at Lowes or Home Depot. I'm not sure if they have any in Canada. Most hardware stores should carry it. I'll take a picture of the can when I get home.
