Does the DD cabinet have a metal or wooden control panel? If it's wooden, just building a replacement control panel for yourself would be a snap. If it's metal, that would require a little engineering.

Either way, building one specifically for the cabinet will almost definitely turn out better than mounting something to it that someone else built. Plus this way you can avoiding modifying the cabinet, itself. Don't need another Centipede incident. I saw you mention that this machine is in its original cabinet in good condition. I wouldn't advise against any changes that are not reversible.

(This is just my 1/50 of a buck.)

A picture of the cabinet would help, since there are plenty of conversion Double Dragons out there, and it matters what kind of cab you have.

Well with artwork and plexi it won't be under $200 anyway+$30 shipping.
Get an x-arcade or something pretty sure it will fit.

If it's wooden you're cool. Just replace the CP with another of the same size. You could probabnly even use the same mounts and everything...

I'm sure SNAAAKE wouldn't mind making it 23 1/4 inches to fit... considering there's an original cab's livelihood at stake! (hint hint, SNAAAKE)

I would recommend coming up with a joy/button layout first before you start making the panel. Maybe even consider a DD theme! Because the button layout will depend on the art placement on the CP. Does that make sense?

it looks like the control panel you have has a 3 button layout per player. why not just get a 1"1/8 hole saw and drill three more hole per side?

Yeah man, add six buttons to it and you are good to go, you don't NEED a new panel, just more buttons.

Or if you want all new controls, I'll bet you could send your old panel (complete), and the new controls to someone on the board and they would install your new controls for you (keeping your old sticks/buttons for their time).

Well, you would have to WIRE them, but yes, you could simply add buttons to you current panel. You may or may not have to do at least some soldering or wire splicing, it depends on how it is currently set up.

If your cabinet is already a Jamma cabinet then a simple Capcom kick harness and the extra buttons should be all you need. Might have to run the cab ground over to the new buttons as well,  as I can't recall if the kick harness has a ground on it or not.

Or, if it is already a Mame, then wire your new buttons the same way you wired your old ones.

JAMMA Plus is not a standard, Jamma Plus just means that the game has an extra harness or connector in addition to the JAMMA harness. All the Capcom games use the same extra harness. While all the Mortal Kombats also use the same one, all the others pretty much are unique to each game.

So, basically you CAN'T buy a JAMMA+ harness. You simply add the new buttons and wire the Capcom harness to the extra buttons, and the 6 button capcom boards will have an extra plug in where the kick harness plugs in, if memory serves correct it is usually on the top board.
