more responsive j-stick and buttons

It seems my joy sticks and buttons are not responsive enough.  I have tried tuning the keyboard properites(repeat delay and repeat rate), it does not seem to help.

I am running P4 1.5Ghz, XP, MAME32, with SS classic.

This system does not run anything else, it only has MAME32.  thanx!!!
