For those getting items from my website....
« on: May 24, 2004, 06:39:30 pm »
I'll delete this thread in a little bit, but...

For those of you who have ordered, or are going to order, items from my site...

PLEASE remember to fill your full contact info.  There have been quite a few that have not done this.  It gets difficult to send a package to a person with a name like "ArcadeD00d" or that lives in the state of "Not Entered"

I didn't program the software, it's a free package.

http://closedshop.sourceforge.net

However, I will submit that as a 'feature request'

Have you played around with Agoracart, http://www.agoracart.com?  I was using that before I went with the "package deal" for my merchant account.  The agoracart software is very configurable and there is a support forum where other users can help you tweak something just how you want it.  I liked that shopping cart software a lot more than the one I'm using now, and the only reason I'm sticking with the one I bought was because of the tech support that was part of the package.

My pet peeve with orders is people who order with a hotmail or yahoo email address, and then I can never contact them because my emails get bounced, their account is "over-quota", or any number of other free email related problems.  It gets very frustrating when people using these types of email services never get my replies and they keep emailing me stuff like:  "Dude, I placed an order and I never heard anything from you.  Why won't you answer me????"

try clicking about an inch above your question...
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

No problem.  It used to be called the agora.cgi cart when I used it, but they've officially changed the name now to just agoracart, I guess.

It's probably the best free cart I found, with more features than a lot of commercial carts that costs $100's more.  Super easy to customize and it runs on a linux server, it should be perfect for ya.  ;)
