I am trying to complete the spinner / trackball interface on my cabinet without the use of an optipac. I built a cheep spinner and found an Amiga alfadata trackball, both are serial.
I would like the trackball and spinner to "fight" over the cursor, that is, both are active at the same time on the same cursor. In XP it works like I want but my cabinet runs DOS and Advancemenu. In DOS , only one mouse type controller loads, usually port 1. Switching port 1 plug from spinner to trackball by hand requires a restart for the controls to work properly.
I am using the optimouse drivers and have added the lines..
ctmouse /1
optidrv /2
...to my autoexec.bat.
Is optimouse designed for two or more inputs (mice) to "fight" over the cursor or is it for something else? Maybe like two mice for two players or even two mice for one player at the same time, maybe like crystal castles?
How can I get the "XP" mouse behavior (fighting over the cursor) in DOS? Can I build a magical "Y" splitter and plug both spinner and trackball into the same port?
