Simpsons/TMNT cab question
« on: May 19, 2004, 12:42:23 am »
I have been strongly considering building a Simpsons/TMNT/etc. Konami cabinet.  I got the plans from www.jakobud.com, and am very impressed with them.  The question I had was; when looking at the Simpsons cab on KLOV ( http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=9550 ), it appears as though the door on the front of the cab is offset just a bit, but it doesn't show that this is the case on the plans.  If it is offset, by how much?

I have a konami simpsons cab. Assuming you aren't talking about the weird octoganal shaped one at the top of the klov page, no it's not offset. I just went and measured. It's a great cab by the way.

Ok, thanks!  :)  Yea, I was talking about the one on the bottom.  The Simpsons/TMNT have always been on the top of my list of favorite games, and I really like the look of their cabinet.  Does the door go all the way to the floor?

Sent you a pm, but maybe you didn't see it. Are you asking about if the coin doors go all the way to the floor? If so, no.
Hop in the chatroom if ya want, i'll be in there all day.

Hey, I've actually been looking for the plans to this one. My sister-in-law is Simpsons crazed and I wanted to build her this for her high school grad present. Anyone know where I can get these?

Sorry, I read the original post wrong. I thought it said 'assuming your are talking about the weird octoganal shaped one at the top of the klov page'. I am not looking for the standard looking four-player cab, which is on the jakobud.com site. I wanted the plans for the strange looking one.

Ahh,
That's probably going to be tough to find. You would probably have to design your own cabinet for something like similar. If it wasn't for the side art, I would think it was a convert, however it may be some international version. Doesn't look that practical anyways with the viewing angle from the 1 and 4 player controls.

That is a converted Sega Quartet cabinet.
