PC Joystick height
« on: May 17, 2004, 08:36:35 pm »
I want one of my panels to have a "regular" joystick.  Right now I have the original MS Sidewinder joystick, which is 9" tall.  Unfortunately, this is the max. height I can use.  Can anyone measure the height and base size of their PC joystick and let me know what it is?  I am lookiing at the MS Precision 2, any Logitec joystick or any other that someone can suggest.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Saitek ST90 - the base has 3 arms that can easily be removed and then epoxied into your panel.  It has minimal footprint since it rotates on a ball above the base and the street price is around $15.

Mounted it sticks up 7-3/4" above the panel and less than 1" below the panel with 1/2" thick MDF in the middle.

Look about 3/4 of the way down the page and you will see how I mounted it:

Great cabinet!  The joystick idea is great also...I'll probably do the exact same thing then.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  If anyone else has a suggestion, I'd appreciate that too....but take a look at what Doc did!
