1st Mame Cabinet
« on: May 14, 2004, 01:23:04 am »
I'm building my 1st Mama Arcade Cabinet for a local youth lounge. I've done a search on this site (and the web) but since this is all new to me I still have some questions. I want the machine to be able to play all (well most of) the mame Roms out there. What would be the best controller set up? I was thinking of buying the plans over at www.mameroom.com for the Ultimate Arcade II cabinet and the Ultimate Arcade Control Panel. What does every on think or can I find information on how to build these for free online? The next question is the computer (yes I know there is info out their and I will continue searching). I have an old PII (actually AMD K-6II) lying around, should I use this or go out and get an Athlon? Thanks alot, if there is anything else you think I should know please let me know! Hope to be hanging around here alot.

You're in the right place! Or maybe you're not! Make sure you visit "arcadecontrols.com". There is a great Step by Step ' Newbie Guide, or there is a book that has just been published titled "Project Arcade". Great resource to get you more then started. Read all you can and anything your fuzzy on post here and you'll get your questions answered.
