Patching a metal control panel

I've seen a few people patch metal control panels with  a sheet of metal and Bondo, I'm just curious if you would still be able redrill holes where the Bondo is, without destroying the bondo?   I have a swiss cheese looking  old Kangaroo/Digdug control panel that I bought from ebay and I want to patch up and make an extra control panel for my Mame cab to play Streetfighter etc...type games.

i doubt it would work, when you put pressure on it I think the patch metal would push thru.

You would best to weld the holes or just have a new panel made.

I guess I should have also mentioned that I was thinking of using JB weld to attach the metal to the underside of the panel since I have no welding skills. So the Bondo would be just to patch up the un needed holes on top.  I've never worked with bondo, so I'm just wondering how well it holds up to being Drilled?

You might be surprised at how cheap it is to just take your control panel into a sheet metal workers and just ask them to make a blank for you. I did 4 like this recently and it only cost $10 per panel. It was a pretty simple panel but it would be worth finding out.

I've drilled bondo before.  I've actually patched a hole in my wall with bondo and mounted a shelf into it... because joint compound and spakel were to weak to drill and mount to.  Just be sure to add a lot of hardener to the bondo and mix it in real good.
