A few questions
« on: May 08, 2004, 11:57:38 pm »
I, of course, am a newb to the whole arcade world but I'm looking to get started on my own cabinet soon but first I have a few questions I was hoping I could get some help on.

1) 2 or 4 player control panel?
I'd love a 4 player panel to play the Simpsons or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but I'm not sure how practical it'd be and if I'd have problems wiring and such. Any advice?

2) Wood?
I see a lot of people using plywood or MDF and painting it black but I'd like to use some nice wood so that way I can stain it and make it look more "professional". Any ideas on what wood to use and what looks nice stained?

3) Hooking up TV? (sorry for not being in monitor section)
To hook up a TV to a PC all I need is a video card with TV-out, correct?

Sorry for my newb questions but any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1. Well if you want to play the 4 player games you had better make a 4 player CP.  The wiring is the same as a 2player CP but just 2 more players to wire.  I have a 4 player and I wouldnt do it any other way.

2.Oak/Maple is what most use I think.  .There are quite a few people who have stained their cab so it looks nice in their house.  I didnt cause I like the ARCADE look.

3. Yes all you need is a TV with Svideo and a Svideo card on your pc.
