Area51 problem with ActLabs TV gun?
« on: May 05, 2004, 09:47:49 pm »
I have one ActLabs TV light gun connected and calibrated.  I enabled light gun support in Mame32 and thought Area51 would work.   When I start the game I notice there are crosshairs right in the center of the screen which never move.   When I click the fire button of my light gun there is another set of crosshairs which appear at the spot where I was aiming.  Problem is, I never hear a "bang" and none of the bad guys ever die.   Basically, the crosshairs appear right on the "bad guys" but nothing happens apart from that.    Also, dont know why the second pair of crosshairs remain in the center of the screen.  And yes, the gun is NOT set on two player mode.... I have the gun switch set in the "middle" position which is single gun mode.

Have you changed the Player 1 button 1 and 2 to mouse button 0 and 1 ?

Yeah, press tab while the game is running and remap player 1 buttons to the mouse buttons.

Also, make sure you are pointing at the screen when you pull the trigger to set the fire button.  If you are pointing off the screen it will register as mouse1 instead of mouse0 (This might only be in NoNameMame, but I'd point at the screen to be safe).

Make sure you are NOT paused when you are configuring the controls.

And to turn off the crosshairs (if they bug you), press F1.
