Opinions please
« on: July 24, 2002, 08:46:24 am »
Looking to build something for 'myself' for once here  ;D

For the way I am planning on doing things I have to make a decision.  2 19" monitors....1 horizontal and 1 vertical.

Or 1 25" rotating monitor.

Pro's and cons...

2 19's means that both can be used at the same time although sacrificing the much larger size of the 25"

Rotating monitors are just 'COOL' especially electrically rotated one's which is what I would build....which I think would just make the project much more fun to undertake.

So which would you do if you had to make a decision ??? ???

One thing I forgot to mention....this is NOT for MAME.  This is for real arcade pcb's that will be switchable like the machine I made years ago.  I will have a seperate MAME cab.

Let me hear your thoughts please.

Thanks
Andy

Well I have a rotationg monitor, it ranks high on the "cool" factor but it have really consider replacing it with a 25" monitor, mostly because I have never gotten around to putting a motor on it to rotate it.  Without a motor I have to leave the glass off the front and the cab always looks "unfinished" (plus I can use the 19" in the cocktail  ;D ).

Hmm....after checking out Happs catalog.  If I decided to go with only 1 rotating monitor I may up to the 27" for an extra C-note!!

Damn, I wish I had room (and money) for 2 of the 27's!! It kinda sucks the only way for me to have dedicated hor. and vert. monitors will be with the 19's.   :'(

Even without rotating the huge 27incher.. the vertical games will still be about the normal arcade size : )
