Disney DDR?
« on: May 01, 2004, 12:37:51 pm »
Don't figure these are too comon.  I know there are a lot of DDR nuts on this board, and this was a pretty cool DDR.  You can see (kind of) Huey, Dewy and Louie doing the record scratching thing in the background of the game.  You could dance to hip hop versions of classic Disney songs like Zip a Dee Do Da, Disco Duck etc.

It was pretty funny, but I managed to get a pic of it.

Check it out:

Disney Mix came out for the Playstation.  I have it, and let me tell you... IT SUCKS!  I thought it would be cool, you know, to have a few new songs to dance to, but boy was I wrong.  First off, there's only like 7 songs or so that aren't on any other mixes and secondly, the timing is waaaay off.  I can play the same song on max and get a AA but when I play on the disney mix I get a crapload of almosts 'n a few boos which also equals a AA but that's a different story.

Anyway, I got it at toysRus for like $8 so I guess it's not a huge waste of money...
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Yeah, I have it on Playstation 2 also. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's an original Playstation game actually.  Either way though, it is not very good at all.  By far, the worst DDR out there.  It's kind of fun, and it's a good laugh listening to the songs and animations the first go through, but other than that, it's not worth much.  I also got it for like 5 or 6 bucks, so it isn't a big deal, but it's definitely not going hunting for heh.

Never saw an arcade machine though, pretty cool
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

I have the disney mix for playstation and the best part about it is the dance magic, but now that's built into stepmania, so no need for it anyways.  Although I still like playing "It's a small world - Ducking hardcore mix" every once in a while.  And if you have a modded playstation, the japanese version (import) has more songs which are probably better, but you miss out on maniac mode.

Also just remembered that there are a few videos on www.ddrfreak.com of people dancing on a disney mix machine.

Its funny I saw the pic and said to myself - Space Mountain :)

That might be the only one in the US as far as I'm aware.  I'm a Disney World-aholic and have danced on that machine several times myself.

As far as the PS version - I enjoy it and have never had a problem with timing at all on it myself.

I need to do some more reading on stepmania and actually try it one of these days.  Who knows I  might build it into my jukebox project - it would probably be a good fit - just add a couple of usb-playstation adapters on the front...

Its in Disney World at the Magic Kingdom - the machine is on the far left wall of the Tommorrowland Arcade (which happens to be the name of my cab).    It is to the left of the redemption/refreshment booth in the middle of the arcade.

SirPoonga, I'm curious, why do you feel that bittorrent and IRC make it difficult to find DDR songs?  The bittorrent links are easily found, and it doesn't take that long to pull down the bumper packs.

It took me 6 days to find the DDR character pack for stepmania.  It took several more to find all of 2nd and 3rd mix using BT and IRC.  It's difficult to find this stuff.

For BT you pretty much have to know what Tracker has the BT file.  That can be tough to find.

The disney ones are very tough to find.  It took me PMing a person and he IMed them to me.  I don't think it's all of them, I think one song is missing too.  I don't really care as the disney set does suck except for 1 or 2 songs.  It's just too....Disney.

Yeah, don't link to copyrighted stuff here, liability and all.  I found it eventually by google.
