What's a good price for a Virtua Tennis (Naomi) cabinet?
« on: April 30, 2004, 02:36:23 pm »
A local arcade has a Virtua Tennis Conversion cabinet (Naomi hardware) that is in pretty good shape.  I like the idea of being able to put MAME on it and also have a Naomi hardware so that I could pick up a few rom carts to play on the hardware as well.  They are asking $995.  Is this reasonable?  Should I be able to get them down some?
Thanks.

Need a lot more details than that. It is a conversion, that means it could be anything from a 13" ex-video poker with water damage, to a nearly new 51" showcase cabinet.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Sorry.  It has a 25" monitor which doesnt appear to have any burn-in.  Just a typical cabinet--fairly good shape.  Two coin inputs.  Only problem is that the control panel only has two action buttons for Virtua Tennis.  Would have to add some for MAME usage, etc.  The real attraction was the Naomi board having some value as to using other rom carts at a reasonable price--like a Neo Geo MVS only more modern.
What do you think?  Can you usually deal with the arcades on these things?  Would like to pay only $600-700.

Their price is way high for a 25" unit.

A 25" cabinet at auction in good shape $225. A naomi motherboard and virtua tennis cart DOES NOT cost $775.

Other issues. I am pretty sure that is a medium res monitor, which is MUCH harder to deal with Mamewise.
