« on: April 28, 2004, 11:21:12 am »
One more.. eheh I have attached a box to the cab for the control panel and the control panel will site ontop of it. The last cabinet I used velcro it worked fairly well and was easy to remove and access wires etc... any suggestions? I have seen people use piano hinges and I have seen them at the hardware store just wondered if they were good? how do you hold the conrol panel up when u open it? mayb I can get some sort of arm?

Anys suggestions please let me know.

thanks in advance
Jim

Not sure I understand how your cab is set up so this may not be of any use to you. This is what panel clamps look like. They hold a panel down securely and are easy to release by reaching up through the coin door.

`My controls are not set up like the standard.. I used something similar to Lusids design. the controls are in a box sort of thing with the cp being the top like a lid.

I will try to get some pics

My set up is similar to yours, for a 2 player control panel just drill 2 holes through your control panel and through the shelf on your cabinet. Then fasten with 2 bolts through your cab and into 2 Tnuts in your control panel. This will be plenty strong and it will be easy to remove the panel if want to have switching panels or need to service the Cp. With mine I ran slots in the cabinet shelf so the control panel can be slid away from the bezel for trackball games like Golden Tee that need more swinging room.
