USB Steering Wheel
« on: April 26, 2004, 03:11:22 pm »
I hope this hasn't been asked recently, but is it possible to get a steering wheel that plugs into my USB port to work in MAME with games like Spy Hunter?  And if so, what do I do?  I have a wheel setup and working in for PC driving games, but I don't know what to do to get it to work in MAME.  I think I'm running MAME .69 (I can't remember) and I'm running XP with Mamewah.

Thanks

Minwah

Yes, simply enable joystick input: 'joystick 1' in your MAME ini file, or have a look in the menu's for MAME32 :)

This site will help you: http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/mameguide/mameindex.htm
Go to Mame Win32 Setup on the left hand side.

No, it doesn't matter what rom set you have.  The instructions on the site will allow you to create a mame ini file.  Where you may run into trouble with the .62 rom set is if your version of Mame is different then the rom set, some games may not work or may not work well.
