Emergency Houston auction
« on: April 24, 2004, 10:12:45 pm »
Copied from RGVAC, not my warehouse

Due to the owner of my warehouse of 10 years dying, and his *$&)#$ of a
brother selling the building and giving me 9 days to move out ...

I'm having a 100+ game auction on Sunday at my Warehouse in downtown
Houston.

Come one, come all! No buyers premium, no other charges. What you bid is
what you pay.

Some laser stuff, a little pin stuff, LOTS of parts/part games, a spatter of
classics, and lots of dirt...

Auction starts at 1.00pm on Sunday, with preview starting at 12.00am.

The warehouse is located at the intersection of Lemar and Palmer in downtown
Houston.  I don't have the exact address, but here is a map to the location.

if you have any questions please feel free to call me at (832) 347-6570

Thanks!

Callan.

WTH? 100+ and more? He decides to sell now that he has to move out? Man, what was he holding onto that many games for so long in the first place? If he is so willing to let them go now!?

Man, I can't believe some of the deals that were going down at this auction!!! I got a nice Street Fighter II cab for a buck! Here we come MAME! I alos got a nice Rygar cab with working 19" monitor for $15! People were getting cabs with boards and monitors for $20-30 pretty regularly. I picked up a very nice working Golden Tee 2K for $500. Some great deals.  He did have alot of cabs that went unsold that would be great for a MAME...

I was there as well, picked up 8 cabs for $59.00. Some are pretty complete. The best part was the wife was with me so she approved, she even kept pushing me to bid higher on a Sinistar sitdown cab.
I'll post some pics later.

man  :'(

I was gonna rent a truck and drive down, but I just couldn't get it all together.

I thought this might finally be my time to find a pin and get some more games.

I am glad Texas got some good deals, seems like up north always has the deals.

Congrats!

Yeah, you should have gone, there were some older pins that went for less that 100 bucks. I don't know anything about them so I passed on them.
I did pick up:
Arkanoid : $3.00
Wrestlefest : $12.00
Mechanized Attack : $5.00
Heavy Barrell : $1.00
Ghosts 'n Goblins : $3.00
Guerrilla War : $30.00
Phoenix cab (converted to ?) : $1.00
Tempest cab (converted to ?) : $1.00
I missed out on a nice Firefox sitdown cab, went for $40.00 and had the "yoke" control on it. Still kicking myself for not going higher on it  :'(
They had a six player X-men cab that went really cheap, I think about 80 bucks with monitors ( 2 x 25in)  still in it.
Everything was "as is where is" but with those prices, who cares.
Had a great time, guess I gotta rent a U-Haul to get them all home tomorrow.  :P

He has some stuff that didn't sell, also some people are just  taking the the boards and stuff and just leaving the cabs. Call Callan, he's a pretty nice guy.
He wants to get everything out pretty soon, like today or tomorrow, so hurry.

Why can't something like this happen up here in the newengland area?   GRRRR!  Damn you all for getting all those good deals!  J/K about the damning part though... ;)
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen
