Oh Crap...
« on: April 22, 2004, 10:27:30 am »
I just finished the cabinet part of my cabinet yesterday and moved it from my garage into my family room where I had made a space for it.  Well, it's a friggn' monster!!!  I didn't realize how huge it was gonna look down there and it pretty much dwarfs everything else in the room.  Now I am sooooo bummed I don't know what I'm gonna do.  I really don't have anywhere else to put it either.  Maybe I should sell it and then build a Cocktail cab... but I doubt I'll get what I put into this thing back if I try to sell it.  Oh well, at least my wife is being really cool.  She says that I put a lot of hard work into it and that we can keep it in the family room, but realistically there is just no space that I can see there for it. :'(

Any chance of converting your garage to a game room? It's a lotta work, but could solve your problem and free up more space for additional cabs.

I ended up doing this to my three car garage and haven't regretted the decision.

I'd love to do that... but unfortunately my wife and I both drive crap cars so I'm always out there working on them. :-\

I'd say to live with it for a while and see if it grows on you.  When I first got my big-screen TV, I thought "jeez, that thing is way too big"....but after a few months, it seems just fine.  I bet your cabinet won't look so big after a few weeks.

You're right.  I've moved some things around and it seems like it will be ok.  I'll post some pics in the Project Announcements board as soon as I install my finished bezel.
