Need Joystick Opinions

Alright all you joystick gurus....here's the dilly.

Need to know what you guys think about various joysticks.

I have Comps and i'm having a hell of a time getting some games to "feel" right.

Killer Instinct, the SF series...just can't seem to get the moves off that I could in the arcades.

All the classics play great, but it's killing me that I can't seem to get off those 81 hit combos with Cinder in KI.

Someone here said once that KI and some others used optical sticks..similar to the p 360s?

Now's the time to speak up for your fav. joystick....

Thanks

For me it's mostly about the way it feels in hand and not so much the notchy feeling when doing half, quarter or full circle movements.  growing up I was mainly exposed to balltop sticks like the wico or other generic counterparts like it.  i dont like the bat shape of the happs although i do have quite a few laying around here.  I can use them fine for playing CVS or other SF games. but once again its ergonomics the key issue for me.  I play those games on japanese cabinets at the local arcade so sanwa or seimitsu are perfect for me.  At home I use sanwa or other japanese balltop sticks for everything but my bro likes the happs as the other local arcades have american cabs in them with happ sticks and buttons.  what do you feel most comfortable with? I know happs have different spring tensions and actuators too? perhaps it would be a matter of swapping different parts to get what you're looking for? as for KI, not so sure, never played the game much :)

Well the real secret about joysticks is that everyone is going to like the type of joystick that was installed on their favorite cabinet, and everything else is going to feel wrong.

I was personally raised on 85-88 conversion games, which largely used Wico balltops!

Ok...let me ask this then...

does anybody use the p 360's and if so, how do they "feel" with games like KI, SF and MK?

Thought about getting one for my modular CP...

I've also thought about getting a J stick or T stick to try out also, but just wanted general opinions before I spent well erned cashish on something I won't use...then again, I prob could sell it on the Buy/Sell Forum too. ;D

If you search on this subject you'll find a lot of threads.

I guess the moral of the story is that it's a personal preference. I love the T-stick for it's short throw and others dislike it for the exact same reason  ::)

For fighting games, the best joystick I've found is the "Super" joystick from happ. I've tried the ultimate, and they suck. And the sticks that came in my jamma cab weren't either the ultimate or the super, and they sucked pretty bad as well.

For street fighter at the least, you should try the super's.

I personally think Wico "microleafs" are the best fighter stick.
