Help please in gutting my old cabinet...
« on: April 20, 2004, 10:56:13 pm »
OK, I'm new to this and am no electrician...  Anyway, I've sold the jamma board with Sunset riders - now I'm wondeirng what to do with the guts of the cabinet ie. what do I need to keep and how to clean it up a little?

There's items like 'Universal Credit Board' and 'Peter Chou regulator'? Can I remove all the wiring to the existing control panel as I will be using a Jpac / arcade vga... Do i need to keep mains power supply (to feed monitor) or can I change this?

Many thanks..here's some pix - let me know if you need more...

You're going to need to keep mains power for the monitor.  Keep it on that iso transformer, though, or you're not going to have a monitor for long.

In fact, pretty much the only thing you should need to change, assuming this cabinet is in the JAMMA standard is unwiring the power supply.  The J-PAC takes care of your controls when you plug it into the JAMMA socket, as well as amplifying the video signal from your video card.

Heck, depending on what OS you want to run, you may not even need an ArcadeVGA.
