suggestions needed...pc speakers for my showcase cab

ive done a lot of searching for the best speakers for cabs and stuff, but not many people have showcase cabs.  so what im wondering is what are the best speakers that most people use?  im not a huge audiophile or anything, but i do want the cab to sound good.  and odds are, it wont be playing mp3's very much, maybe a little, but not very much, mainly just games.  so i just need some recommendations for a good set of pc speakers that wont break the bank.  and im probably only going to use a 2.1 speaker setup.  suggestions please??

damn, 50 bucks on newegg.com....thats a lot.is that my only option?

also, how big are these things?  im wanting to go ahead and cut the holes for these so i can assemble the monitor section.  how wide are they?  and how long?

50 bucks is a fair price for good sound. You'd be pretty dissapointed to put in all this work to wind up with a crappy sound system.

I would cut some generic speaker hole locations and mount whatever speakers you choose behind them and use a grille.

yeah, but i dont know what to do...should i just route a hole for the speakers?  i mean, i plan on putting black speaker cloth over the speaker panels, but i just need the speaker to be held to the wood, thats all.  so i route a circle thats about 5in. in diameter, would that be good?

For most computer speakers that'll be fine. You find computer speakers much larger then 3-6 inches. No matter the size of the hole you make you can always mount the speaker behind the opening with some L brackets.

oookay, im going to cut a 5 inch diameter hole....im hope you are right   then again, if its off, i could just rig up some l brackets like you said and mount it that way.  i hope this works!
