Sidewinder wiring question.
« on: April 18, 2004, 02:52:39 am »
I'm building another control panel for a friend and deciding to take this route, but ran into a bit of a snag. In the image linked below both sides of the movement pad connector are soldered separately. Now is one going to the ground on the arcade stick or what? Which side goes to what? I was thinking I use the one ground wire and just daisy chain it off each micro switch..   ???

one side is going the the ground the other is the direction...  you can just use 1 ground and daisy chain them, it worked fine for me.

seems like i remember only attaching one main ground wire for the whole thing.  I think all the grounds in the circuit board link together.  I can't be 100% sure, but i'm fairly certain that the only  "ground" wire i used on the circuit board was one of the ones from the top trigger wires, then daisy chained all my buttons ground wires together. Maybe someone else can chime in here also.

Alright, well I'm not going to solder it for a few more hours. If no one else replies I'll just try one side and see what happens.

Thanks for the help everyone.  :)
