I see that use of Lexan and Plexiglass is very popular when making mame cabinets.
Any idea where it can be bought in UK?

Plexiglass is generally called Perspex in the UK - look in DIY shops (my local Focus has it).

For Lexan, my local glazier stocks it - just ask for polycarbonate.

If you just want the thin stuff and are near an Ikea, check out their "bargain corner". They nearly always have ex-display or damaged picture frames that use plastic instead of glass. I found them much cheaper than geeting a sheet from B&Q.
