Making Marquees
« on: April 16, 2004, 08:12:54 am »
First of all, hi, I just recently got into this hobby and ordered myself a hanaho hotrod se.. then I went insane and started making a cabinet, which will be done soon  *school girlish laughter*.

And while I looked around the net for marquees I realized that any one of them involving the mame logo seemed to take it off of mame.net and massively over inflate it.

This disturbed me greatly as it detracts from the visual quality of the marquee, and being a graphics artist... well that hurt my feelings and made me cry.

So even though someone else has probably already done it, I've taken it upon myself to make an obcenely huge mame logo for marquees and whatever else which is included in the zip file i'm attaching to this topic.     Let me know if you think I should make it bigger. :) The file is a photoshop image document so you can just open it up and do what you will with it.

ok I guess i'm not attaching the file... *uploads file to site*
I miss Retroblast :(

you can find HiRes mame marquee in ratser (jpg) format at oscar website check http://www.oscarcontrols.com/gallery01.htm

there's also one in vector (illustrator) format available to the Arcade Art Library [ur]http://www.localarcade.com/4images/index.php[/url]

I have never really considered incorporating the MAME logo or name into any of my cabinets.

The problem is twofold.

The name "MAME" is kind of dumb sounding.

Second (and more important), the name is completely nondescriptive.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
