Coin Reject Button help

I recently purchased a couple Coin Controls coin doors and have fully restored them.  (they look 100 times better than when I first got them)

One thing I dont like about these coin doors however is the coin reject button.  I want to get rid of the red ones and replace them with another color.  Happ Controls and Bob ROberts both only sell Red replacements.  Happs Sales told me that they used to sell blue and green replacements but no longer do.

Anyone know where I can find some?

They still have all those colors AFAIK.

BTW, Mine are yellow or amber and have been meaning to get some of the Red ones.  The coin doors ship with yellow or amber by default.

Is it just me, but didn't most cabs have red ones back in the day (Mid 80's)

Nope. Its not just you 2600 but I too remember all the reject buttons being red. I didn't see a colored one [other than red] til I got my F-1 Super Battle. It has yellow/amber ones.

2600: those are for Happs coin doors.  He wants ones for Coin Controls.  AFAIK they only come in red or maybe orange.

According to Happ Controls, they did have reject buttons for Coin Controls in blue and green colors but no longer carry them.  

My question was if anyone knew of another company like Happ Controls that would probably still carry these.

Nope you are out of luck. Happ Controls is the only source for what few Coin Controls parts are still available.

Is there actually a difference? I have an early 80s coin controls over\under, and a mid 90s Happ over under and besides the bill acceptor they look like the same door to me.

The mechanism, while having the same effect, does not have the same parts as the Coin Controls door.  The reject buttons have a steel bolt on the back, which is bigger and in a different place than the Coin Controls rejects.  They're totally incompatible.

The buttons you pictured are indeed for a HAPP door and they only fit a HAPP door. Coinco, Coin Controls, and Happ are all different.

Coinco buttons don't fit Coin Controls doors. Coin Controls are metric standard. At one time when Coin Controls was at their height they had buttons available in different colors. Not so today. The major coin door manufacturers, Coinco (Coin Acceptors, Inc.) and Coin Controls along with changer/bill acceptor manufacturer, Ardac, were all bought out by Money Controls. They promptly closed out the amusement and coin door product lines of these companies.

Happs sometimes sells their doors using what looks like Coin Control parts, so it is possible your 90s Happs door was using Coin Control type reject buttons.  However, the buttons shown above will only work on Happs door specifically designed for those buttons.
