spray paint vs regular paint...which easier?helppp

okay i am onto my second cabinet..because first one look like (BLEEP)!!!

and here is the deal...i have done spray paint before..it was soooo easy and i wanted to know how come nobody went that way???

HMMMM.....is regular paint much much better?

i am planing on MDF...but the question is...how bad is spray paint compare to regular paint???i am planing silver color...SPRAY would be really easy..so if anyone here know about both then please post...thanks will always be LEFT to anyone who posts....and thanks now..

I don't think most people have a good airless sprayer.  Enough spray paint (in cans) costs quite a bit more than 1 gallon of paint.  Foam rollers and brushes leave a nice finish and no cleanup (just toss them afterwards).

i really dont care...as long as the paint wont come off after couple of days...you done on MDF...anyidea???
i think i will go with spray...but anybody did DO SPRAY on MDF..please post HOW IS IT>>>its goin to stay or maybe come off...thanks in advance for more info..

I say no to either methods.  try laminate it will last longer, and won't leave marks (spray or brush).
it's a little more expensive, but most certainly worth the money.

My cabinet is MDF and I just finished painting on my primer TODAY.  I would not do spray paint if you want a nice clean smooth EVEN finish.  Just get a can of paint and a cheap roller and a brush.  You will get a lot better results than spray paint.  With spray paint, it is a lot more difficult to get a nice even application too.

did not get the wood pieces yet..anybody went with pre laminate by the way...i dont want the install new laminate....tooo much work...and i dont think i can pull it off....so anyone went with pre laminate...my local hardware sell 35$ a sheets(4x8)...so i was thinking if i use jigsaw..then would it break...any idea anyone...thanks in advance...and i dont think i will go with spray paint ...since i heard some stuff....well thanks for looking..

i cut the laminate, by using a rotozip. i should have returned it immediately, because i only used it for this job.

anyways, not that i'd recommend that method, cause it would be dishonest  buuuuttt, it beats spending about 70 bucks only for a one job tool.
it's damn easy to install, just buy laminate cement, smear it some on the cab, some on the laminate, wait about 15-20 minutes, then put both pieces together...enjoy!!!
that's it, no runs no paint to worry about......perfect!

well...your opinion well works...but the question is?there are simple ways?? ?... say i buy pre laminate then cut with jigsaw....would it chip out from the corner...who has done this way...thanks to anyone reading..and writing ofcourse...i dont feel like installing new laminate because each big sheet cost 47$..so i need atleast 2...and pre laminate wood cost only 35$ a sheet..so if anyone worked with PRE LAMINATE....please post result and any helpfull info....thanks

Woah! Hold up!  Regardless of what other people say spray painting will give you a nice even finish.  (If your surface is properly sanded that is.)  The thing is most people don't know how to spray paint and they screw it up.  

Keep the can in a full upright position at all times.  Move the cabinet, not the can.  

Keep the can at least 14 inches from the surface at all times or the paint will go on too thick and it will run.  

This part is the key... ALWAYS keep the can moving.  This means if there's a sport that isn't taking paint you DO NOT set there and hold it on the spot, but rather make several even swipes at it. If you hold the can in one place for more than a split second it will run.  

I spray painted my cab with 8 cans of paint, not including the back.  I got a perfect surface that's evenly coated and still shows the texture of the wood grain underneath. (Which was the intention.)

I wouldn't cut laminate with a jigsaw; I'd use a router.

On large surfaces, I feel that it is harder to get a perfect finish with cans of spray paint.

I had a house painter with a professional spray gun do my final coat (which worked out nice).  In addition, I used laminate on the sides (it's easier than you would think).

i was talking about ALREADY LAMINATE WOOD>>its pre done already...so why buy ROUTER IF I dont have to..if it takes router to JUST TO CUT TO WOOD PIECES THEN I MIGHT GET ONE>>AND just like the other buy said..i might even return it...if its like $70...thanks to everyone who helped...

RE: paint.

The easiest way to paint MDF, imho, is with a little foam roller. There are different qualites of little foam rollers. The good ones with stiff foam don't leave any marks. The cheap ones with soft foam leave your surface looking like, well, foam.

RE: cutting laminate.

You can use a jig saw. You can buy special blades designed for cutting laminate, which cut on the down stroke (opposite of normal blades). That prevents chipping. You can also cut a tiny bit proud, and use a rasp to take it down to final dimension.
