3" Golden Tee trackball at happ - for sale, and questions...

That 3" golden tee trackball on sale at happ - Is that a really good deal? I haven't even REMOTELY begun planning or building my cab yet, but I know one of my biggest costs is gonna be the stupid trackball.

So, would it be worth grabbing this now since it's on sale? If so, what's the easiest/best/cheapest way to make it USB compatible? Buying one of the USB kits from happ as well, bringing the total to around $100? Is that decent/worth it?

I also noticed, there are 2 USB kit's available from happ, only a $2 difference between the two, if that's the way I should go for a trackball, which would be better/what's the difference?

Yes it is... but mainly because it is really a great trackball.  Has a great spin..

cheap way to connect it?  Oscars $10 mouse hack!  Great little item... does wonders!

Don't forget you will need the mounting plate.. thats another 10 bucks or so

But after all this... A trackball isn't a necessity... you CAN build a cabinet with space for a trackball and get it later if you like...  there is only about 3k games to play that doesn't use it..  So if money is worrying you... putting off the trackball isn't a bad thing (if you can add it later)

also... always look at therealbobroberts.com.  He usually has better sales when happs does (since he buys from them in bulk.)

as for a cheaper solution... there is the 26 dollar 2 1/4 trackballs from Andy..  All the rest are the same... Not as nice, but still work great.  (so 46 + shipping installed)
