Hi guys, first post in this forum.

I'm laying touchscreen support into DOSCab/Wincab Jukebox right now; it should be ready by the weekend, if you want to help me test it...

Thanks for the links guys, I had a problem with the touchscreen card so I shelved the monitor and haven't looked at this forum in a long time.
Anyway I got it working this week and I'll look into those options.

Your looks great Chris, I'll let you know how it works :)

Chris I just gave your juke a quick test and it works great with the mouse but not with the touchscreen.
Has anyone had it working successfully? The touchscreen is working fine before entering the juke.

FYI I tried setting it up with a visible pointer and as soon as I touch the screen the pointer disappears ???

Hmm. The tricky part is testing this, since I dont have a touchscreen.  I do have a lightgun, though; I suppose lightgun and touchscreen input would look nearly identical, as mice that suddenly jump to a location as oppose to moving there...

This is probably a side effect of the touchscreen driver... I'm betting that after it activates, it moves the mouse position to a corner of the screen.

Are you using a driver that came with the touchscreen or a regular mouse driver?

Ya I'm using an ELO touchscreen with the XP driver off their site Chris.
I've tried a few other Juke programs tonight and they all work fine with my touchscreen so I'm not sure what the problem could be?

Anyway I'm running the Touchtone Juke at the moment and I'm really like it.
I'm going to give VMJ a try and then I'll decide on my favorite.

The difference is probably in the way I interface with the mouse.  I'll need to look into that in more detail...  thanks for the report!

I got the same result from another touchscreen user, so there's obviously something wrong with my touchscreen code.  I'll keep you posted...

Now I am licensing the software!
Try http://www.touch-n-go.com is built for touch screen. Auto-Mix, Auto-Volume adjustment, mp3's are automatically backed up to a second hard drive, Password lockout, it will shut down your PC. By far the best software for music touch screen systems. For some people who can't afford the best software, it is posted on the EBay.
~thanks :)

Touch Screen Music Software http://www.touch-n-go.com

Dear, Knievel
I have been building touch screen music systems for 3 years now. The touch screen install is rather easy. As long as you have the correct driver for it. There is only a couple of was to hook it up. It will be serial or USB. Either way, most drivers will automatically find the com port that it is plugged into. Hopefully the driver that you have is compatible to the PC that you have. If not, you can download drivers from ELO or UPD (Universal Pointing Device) UPD is the best, but ELO is more common. If you use Touch-N-Go software, it is best that you have 2 sound cards. One for PREVIEW and the other for the main output. If you have a built-in sound card, you should get another one like a Sound Blaster Audigy or Turtle Beach. The best for the money is a 24 BIT output sound card. About 70 bucks on www.pricewatch.com or 150 in a local store.

Well, their software looks like it's aimed at professional DJ's or clubs; it will play multiple playlists to multiple speaker sets, preview songs through headsets without disrupting the main audio, auto-mix songs, etc.  Probably great software even at $200 (actually, looks like $149), just perhaps not what people are looking for in a MAME cab.

I haven't changed the touchscreen.  I know of four people who have tried it; it worked fine for two people and didn't work for the other two people.  I suspect that it will work on DOS and XP but not 98, but I don't have any direct evidence to support that.  It does work with an Act-Labs gun on XP, which should effectively look like a touchscreen to the system.

Unfortunately, I don't have an actual touchscreen to test with.

If you have a touchscreen and it didn't work for you, what OS and touchscreen are you using?

Ok, this makes me want to cry.   :'( Chris, your Jukebox software rocks. Hardcore.  Unlike the rest of the Jukebox software, it looks nothing like a computer inteface.

Unfortunately, it is not a fan of the touchscreen.  When you press on the screen, it doesn't move the cursor. It just acts like nothing happened. However, as soon as I tap the mouse, it moves the cursor to the correct place on the touchscreen. I can then click the mouse button to enque a song in the list.

Perhaps a touchscreen mode, that as soon as the mouse moves, the song is selected? Or maybe send a mouse location refresh command?

Some specs on my machine:
Gateway Connected Touchpad
400 MHz Transmetta Chip
Windows 98 lite sleek (95 explorer)
MK712 Touchscreen controller

It will be so bad ass if it works.

I also have a few other ideas to make it a little more touch screen friendly, if you are interested in hearing them.

actually, it gets stranger - the mouse won't move the cursor, indepent of the touchscreen. Once you press the touch screen,  it looks like nothing happen. Tap the mouse in any direction, and the cursor moves to the last place touched. Try and move the cursor with the mouse, it just stays. Try taping the location with a finger, the mouse doesn't react. Press the mouse button, the song gets queue'd. Really strange behaviour.
