SideWinder Dual Strike - Another Use
« on: April 06, 2004, 10:01:33 pm »
Most people on this board seem to know about using the SideWinder Dual Strike controller as the basis for hacking a 5K pot based arcade control interface. I ordered a couple on eBay for this purpose. I just received them today and thought I should give them a try before I started to hack them up. As soon as I took the controller out of the package I noticed how much it felt like the Star Wars yoke. It doesn't operate like the Star Wars yoke but it feels the same when just holding it. I loaded up Star Wars, setup the 2 triggers and away I went. This is the best controller I have for playing Star Wars by far. I did have to increade the analogue controls speed and sensitvity to play better. (By the way, is it possible to edit the game configuration file? I found it very hard to change the analogue setting...the controller kept changing them!)

If you haven't tried this controller, give it shot!   ;D
