Original Tron triggerstick leaf switches..
« on: March 23, 2004, 11:18:29 pm »
Anyone know if these can still be bought new ? At first sight they look like an average leaf switch but they are quite different as they have 4 leaf tabs instead of the normal 3. Each switch also has a small, round, white spacer between two of the leaf tabs. They aren't present on regular leaf switches. Are these still produced or am I out of luck as far as new ones go ?

Spidermonkey, I guess the lack of responses answers your question. Sorry if I got your hopes up but I don't know the answer either. Weren't you using a new HAPP stick with that funky restrictor from the original stick anyway?

Yeah I have the modified Happ stick with the blue Tron handles on my first cab. I got my hands on a complete original Tron stick for the cab I'm building now. It does have all of its leaf switches but they are a little shabby looking so I want to replace them. I guess I'll just have to clean em up and reuse them. I'm anxious to get this original one cleaned up and working so I can compare the feel between this original stick and the half breed Happ/Midway stick on my first cab.  Thanks for the reply anyway 2slk. :)

While I hesitate to reccommend Wico to anyone, have you checked their online catalog? They have 5 pages of different leaf switches to choose from and a few look something like what you're discribing. Another suggestion would be to check sites that deal in pinball machine parts. Stacked leafswitches are common in pins, and odds are Bally/Midway used the same leaf switches in several of them.

You might try Marco Specialties.  They have parts to create your own leaf switches.

I forgot to check my Tron stick at home, but I'll try and remember to look tonight.
