Question about old wico joysticks

I have a bunch of old wico joysticks , i would like to know how do you tell if  it's 8 way or 4 way , is it just the actuators , Thanks Darrylicshon   ???

To the best of my knowledge, the 4-ways feature a diamond shaped cutout in the base that restricts the shaft movement to the four corners. The 8-ways have a round cutout for no restriction whatsoever.

The 4-ways have a .500" actuator, and the 8-ways have a .600" actuator. (I'm referring to the diameter)
