Mounting T-Stik?
« on: March 22, 2004, 12:26:50 am »
Hi.  I will soon have a T-Stik Plus with the long ball-top.  As my control panel is 3/4" plywood, I was wondering what the best way would be to mount this stick.  Will the long ball-top make it tall enough to bottom mount it, or will I still need to top mount it?

Thanks in advance.

That's one of those personal feel things.

Try test mounting it through 3/4" of cardboard.  See if that's enough stick for the way you play.  If not consider routing out underneath or the top for mounting.  Mess with it til it feels right to you.

That said, I think you'll be fine with the long shaft through the plywood.

I have the Tstick plus with the long ball tops also, I used 1/2 inch MDF for the top and the ball tops seem a tad high. Its not something I would change but I think 3/4 would be perfect. I'd take photos for you but I still don't know how to post them yet ???

How did you people get the T-Stick Plus with ball-top? This sounds perfect for me, except that they're currently sold out, and the enormous cost (TStick Plus & the $12 ball-top shaft). Is there any cheaper/other way to get them?

I had to buy the Tstick pluses with the standard pear shape handles AND the ball top replacements, which is fine because I wanted to see both styles and decide on my own. The ball tops are WAY cooler. At 24 bucks it was kinda expensive but these are great sticks and changing form 4 to 8 way couldn't be easier. I'm going to work on a simple instruction sheet to place on my bezel so I don't always have to explain myself to my drunken buddies.

Only from Andy I think, most of the projects I have seen latley seem to be using the Tstick pluses, most likley why there isn't any around.
