proportional joysticks
« on: March 17, 2004, 05:15:53 pm »
I have been searching all over for proportional joysticks with a 5K pot.  I am specifically looking for single axis models.  I have had a difficult time getting through to haps controls industrial salesperson.  I use the search on this forum and had no luck.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you to offer.

You wouldn't happen to mean analog joystick, would you?

What is this for?  You might have better luck looking for a throttle control, as that would be the most likely use for a single-axis analog joystick...

yes I am looking for a single axis analog joystick with a 5K pot.throttle control is my intended use.  A joystick is preferable over a T handle.  Duplicating the action of my electric wheelchair with a joystick would be the most accurate controls for me.  Thank you for the fast response.

On the T-handle throttle I mentioned (which has a 5K pot), the T-handle is a separate part number from the shaft, so it may be removable.  It also looks like the bat-handle 50-8018-16 may fit that throttle.

Here's a view of the 5K analog T-handle throttle:

And here's a view of a two-position bat-handled shifter:

So if you do get a Happ engineer on the phone, hopefuly they'll know if shaft 50-8018-16 will fit on one of the throttles.  At that point you ave two choices: one that returns to center (http://www.happcontrols.com/driving/50008300.htm) and one that doesn't (http://www.happcontrols.com/driving/50818400.htm).

thank you very much!  that's perfect. This is my first project.  Overwhelming info. how about rapidfire buttons?  Is there something that runs in line with the wires?  Or is a specific type of buttons?
