Battlezone as a double decker cab and other ramblings.

Ok, been selling a few games on ebay and local in attempts to get a bit of cash, and get my collection down to the point where it fits in the small bedroom instead of the LARGE one.

Someone bought my Battlezone cabinet, but they just wanted the panel and the whole periscope/viewer assembly (also just sold Popeye and Out Run, with a couple still on ebay and at least one cab scheduled for Superauctions).

This of course left me with a Battlezone cabinet with no panel or front viewer deal.

GET THIS.

Take that stuff off and take a look. There is like a natural second control panel spot up a bit higher than the first. Just the perfect size for a 4-way, spinner and some buttons.

I also measured and I can BARELY, just BARELY get a slightly modified capcom layout AND 3" trackball on the main panel.

Now granted that would be one heck of a frankencab, but it would be done with no cutting or extending of any kind.

Not sure if I am going to do it or not. It really depends on how good the controls on the upper control panel would feel. I think I might install and interface those and see how they feel before making a decision on it.

Also got a pretty beat up (but solid and complete) Darwin 4078 in a Frogger cabinet as part of the deal for the Popeye. It doesn't power up, and I haven't checked anything on it yet. It does have a very nice Wico 4-way (diamond pattern) stick on it.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
