Coin Mechs? Coin Door Parts?
« on: March 11, 2004, 12:14:25 am »
I just purchased a beat up coin door on ebay for pretty cheap.  I plan on restoring it back to glory.  Anyone know of a place to buy coin mechs, new locks and replacement reject buttons from?
Happs has coin mechs for $20 each (+ their outrageous shipping charges)

Any help would be appreciated!

That's a "Coin Controls" coin door. You'll have to buy replacement parts for it from Happ.

Coin mechs are pretty much the same everywhere. Ask on the rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace newsgroup, someone should sell you a pair for much cheaper.

Locks you can get at most any hardware store. I always get mine at Home Depot.

As for the reject buttons, that is gonna be Happs, unless Bob Roberts happens to have them in stock.

Check the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the board.  I've got Token mechs (and tokens) up there, and I believe there are some other people who may still have some quarter mechs.

Bob Roberts has the rejects and mechs.  Competive Products also has them.  I've got the locks (keyed alike) and I've got mechs too.

Thanks for the replies!  I contacted Bob ROberts and looks like he has everything I would need and for 1/2 the cost of Happs.

A few more questions...

1. Is this a good type of coin door?  I mean I rather just eat the cost of the door instead of investing time and money to grind it, repaint, new mechs, lock and rejects doors.  Thoughts, opinions?

I am getting ready to build a Ultimate Arcade II cabinet and at first thought this would be an ideal coin door but now that I look at the picture more, it looks kinda big.

2. will any coin mech fit in this thing?  Bob Roberts sells the Happs Ultimechs for only 9 bucks.

Thanks!
Aki

It's a great door.  Williams style, and it appears to be one of the ones that are unfinished.  Nice.  Not sure about how it would fit on a UAII cab, I persoanlly don't like them.

It's an ok door, but IMO I just don't like Coin Controls products.
