control problem, only in MvC

I just wired up my control panel last night and the first game i fired up to set the controls in the general tab, was marvel vs capcom. so i go into the menu hit enter on button 1, press button 1, etc for all 6 P1 buttons. i try playing and only the heavy punch button is working. i go back and look and for some reason when i press button 1 to assign it, it makes it say "button 1 - left control right control" "button 2 - left alt right alt" etc. so im like wtf i must have wired something wrong. but just for the hell of it i fire up mr do, assign keys and it works fine.

but when i go back into MVC its still messed up, whats wrong?

Did you map the controls to start with with MAME paused?  May make a difference (I certainly heard of some problems caused by that).

How about delete the contents of your \mame\cfg folder and then use the ctrlr ini files to map accordlingly.  Could be worth a shot...

Try it again. Delete whats in there and re add it...

Definately a pause problem.  Configure controls without pausing mame.

yeah i did have MAME paused... ill try that when i get home today =) thx

This is a stupid question, but how do you delete whats in the field?  I always end up hitting the same key 400 times or so to get it deleted.

if you go to a different button, then go back to it, it will reset
