other than gameongraphix/mamemarquees where else can I order a control panel overlay that is tough enough to cover the trackball hole(see  picture)?

im looking for something like the original capcom diamond panel or something like  that but would like to print my own graphic on it

I do not undestand the question .
are you wanting to remove the track ball? and cover the hole?
I see nothing wrong with the CP.

That 7th hole, on one side you put a spinner and on the other side you put the button that changes the joysticks from 4 way to 8 way mode. You leave the trackball because Teknoparrot now supports Golden Tee 2016 and it is amazing.

or

I used 1/4" plywood to transform a metal control panel, not sure I would really recommend it, but it certainly solved the problem.

Another option to consider is a 3d printed cover for the trackball hole.
- It should be pretty easy to use the trackball mount hardware to hold the cover under the panel.
- The cover should have a raised circular part to fill the trackball hole flush with the top of the panel.

With a cover like that, a regular CPO should be fine.

I can design a parametric cover like that for you in OpenSCAD if you provide the necessary measurements.

^ thx..i will let you know if i go route.

I was thinking a wood panel underneeth covered by  1/16" lexan on top can work.

Is the reason to get rid of trackball purely aesthetic? Perhaps you could repurpose the hole for something useful? Probably too small for a cup holder but for something you might need while playing?

You can buy circular plugs of all sizes, and many styles, online.

Some work desks have plastic hole cover with a sliding "door" to poke cables through. Great for using different controllers, thinking consoles, but anything really. Wonder if anyone makes them in your size?

A 3D printer would be great.

I can imagine using that trackball means whacking your hand into the screen a lot, at least with some games? Screen is very close to CP.
Check out my completed projects!

I just wanna sit in the middle and play fighting games online :burgerking: dont really need  the trackball. I think I will make a wood panel with a lexan top..I think the original metal panel is about 1/16"

attach a metal plate to the back of CP. Then fill trackball hole with bondo. let dry then sand your hart out till smoth paint and done.

If you do not like the idea of adding a metal plate. Fiberglass will do.  Apply to the back side of CP .But will add more time to let the fiberglass to dry then use bondo. then  let that dry then sanding.
If you know anyone whow works on painting cars. I would ask if he would take on a side job.

Honest Snake. I am not talking out of my arsh. In Mesa AZ in the mall. I ran Bally's aladdin's castle. just a manager nothing much. But I had hands on work with arcade cabs. Bondo was used often.  Also in rental Tents  (wedding and big events like car race's) (P.I.R.) we used bondo on the tables and chair repairs. If sanded well and painted you wull not see it and very strong.
