Ultimarc Mag-Stik Plus / optional Ball Top Handle on a 3/4" CP
« on: October 12, 2025, 02:14:31 pm »
Long, long time since my last post.  I love that this forum is still going strong.
I'm looking to purchase and mount a Mag-Stik Plus beneath a 3/4" melamine control panel, and I'm concerned about the top-side clearance of the stick and dust washer.
I know I can route a recess under the CP, but I'm trying to avoid that.
Two questions please.
I'm looking for confirmation whether Andy's optional Ball Top Mag-Stik Plus Handle adds any appreciable length over the default bat-top.
And I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has bottom-mounted a Mag-Stik Plus under a 3/4" CP, as to how it's worked out for them please.
Thanks Much!

I'd ask Andy directly. As memory serves he used to offer the balltop shafts in two different lengths, and the difference between the two of them was 10 or 12mm. Since he only has one option listed now I'd presume that it's probably the shorter of the two.

I had ordered and used the longer balltop shafts many years ago, though they were mounted in a pocketed 5/8" panel with about 3/8" thickness in the pocket. I think they would still have been at a usable [but low] installed height if surface-mounted under a 3/4" panel.
