Deguassing a Hantarex MTC-900E CRT Monitor
« on: September 26, 2025, 07:23:52 am »
I recently got a Hantarex MTC-900E as part of a Jamma machine I purchased and it looks like it is in need of degaussing, there is a degaussing coil fitted and connected to the PCB however I am trying to figure out how to activate it. On reading the manual it appears it should degauss when powering on however there are a couple of issues I noticed: -
The cap is missing on the top of what I think is the PTC
The wire shorting connection CC on the schematic is missing.

The question is, do I simply short out the 2 pin connector to activate the degaussing? It says on the schematic it can be push button activated so am I okay to assume I can add a suitable putton at some point to trigger degaussing when required?

Maybe try replacing the PTC thermister? Generic component should suffice.
