WG D9200 sleep mode possible?

Hello-

I am working on getting my configuration completed on my arcade cabinet.  I have Win 10 with a WG D9200 monitor in the cabinet.  I am using AttractMode for front end.  I have working screensaver in attract mode that will play random videos after 10 minutes.  There is an option to blank the screen after X minutes, but that still leaves the gun on and the monitor still "glows" just black.  I used power settings in Windows to turn off the video after 60 minutes which works but then the monitor shows "No Signal" box on it in different colors.  I don't want to get that burned into the screen.  Is there a way for the WG D9200 to really go into power save mode when there is no signal so that the monitor turns off?  What is your recommendation for this setup?  I hate to have to power up the arcade cabinet every time I want to use it, but i also don't want to burn out my monitor leaving it on 24/7. 

I currently have a relay setup in the cabinet to only turn on the monitor power when it senses power on one of the computer's power outputs (hard disk power cable), and I am thinking something like this but only sensing VGA output on cable would work, but I am not sure if that is doable or easily done?

OK, I may be answering my own questions, but I am thinking of building a relay circuit that uses 5V from USB to power the coil on the relay and then VSYNC on the other side of the coil (with a flyback diode across the coil) and then using 120V on the common and NO contacts.  Then when the signal isn't present, VSYNC should move to ground and energize the coil tripping the relay and break the 120V connection shutting off the monitor.  Seems like a bunch of work to effectively create "energy star compliance" but i am hopeful it will work.  Anyone have any reason I shouldn't do this?

i would look at the pinout of the main microcontroller and see if there is something that you could tap into that goes low and high when there is no/a signal.

i wouldn't directly drive a relay with it, i'd put a transistor of fet to switch it.
