Hello,

It's been a while since I've been logged on.

I'm trying to pick up on some old unfinished projects. All  started before my brain surgery, four years ago. I had an original NEO GEO motherboard and a yellow v1 multi cartridge for it this whole time. During recovery, I bought a V3 blue cartridge.

Since then, I have bought the Wishcolor Connector Motherboard (without Shell) for SNK Supergun 1.0 Version Cbox Jamma Retro Arcade Game. As well as two box arcade cabinet controllers I've tested it out on my desktop monitor and so far it it is super fun to play working on plans to finish up somehow.

Does that supergun just have RGB out and what converter did you use with it?

Good to see you around, Locke141.

CMVS just doesn't scratch the itch for me.  I got an AES and a few carts.  Not that I actually play them, but just looking at them makes me happy.  Then I got a NeoGeo CD to play stuff like Windjammers and I don't play that either.

Howard recently picked up a CMVS in an AES style shell and it was probably a wiser decision... but 12 year old me wouldn't be happy with it.

This is the one I bought:

Time harvest makes them.   On a good sales event you can get 15%  off the order via coins and another 10-15% via coupons essentially eating up that $50 shipping fee.  I really like it.   They take a mv-1b board and flatten it out and solder it to two add-on modules that give it usb ports and composite/component and svideo out in addition to vanilla rgb.   The soldering on the boards looks really good and they do some quality-of-life improvements like replacing the ram and removing the cmos battery.   The whole deal is pretty turn-key and the usb functionality is nice as it allows you to use your favorite fight stick in addition to the original controllers.   I'm going to add a bettery back in with a plastic sealed battery holder to avoid acid mishaps.  Also they don't have a memory card slot so I'll eventually clip off the bios they've added (unibios 4.0 btw) and add a vmu and bios plug in unit they have on aliexpress for $40.

I've converted a mvs board myself as well and while that still works this option is just cleaner and looks nicer.

Also you might want to look at the poly game master.   It's essentially a mvs on steroids that was released in Tiawan towards the end of the mvs's life.   It's games you've never heard of that are of a similar quality to neogeo games.  They have a similar form factor and are just as easy to consolize.  I'm thinking about pulling the trigger.

Due to the way the arm processors are used as security chips it's doubtful we'll ever get a banana cart but a lot of the games are cheap and there are some cave bootlegs.
