GP2040-CE controllers
« on: January 26, 2024, 06:04:25 pm »
Finally got round to making some controllers for an arcade cab, decided to go with the rp2040 zero for the tiny controllers for low lag. Used JST XH connectors and 3d printed a case for it.
Anyone else gone with the GP2040-CE solution for their arcade projects?

I have started to play with the rp2040 zero since they are so cheap. Where did you source the 9pin connectors? Those are great.

Same reason i went with rp2040 this time instead of Arduino pro micros, the rp2040 zero costs less than £1.80 where Arduino costs £7 now.
I got the connector from AliExpress a box of them was around £1.70 so dirt cheapo, free delivery too if you spend more than £8 from the choice select stores, easy to do when buying the rp2040 zeros too.
Case i made myself on tinkercad, 11th revision works for me although i can see areas where it could be improved but does the job fine. I will put case up on thingyverse so others can benefit from it or even make it better.

My old cab uses 2 arduio pro micros with daemonbite firmware.
Rp2040 is much more cheaper alternative and more customisable.
