the amp runs on +12v if it is sketchy or missing it wont play sounds. the board only uses +5v, it doesnt care if it has no +12v.
check your chamma harness. your speaker connections should be the black and white wires (it looks like) 4 pins down from the +12v. i've had to pry out the contacts a little on those chamma harnesses to put more pressure on the edge connector to get a good connection.
feel the amp... see if it's hot. could indicate a short, or a failed speaker or failed amp IC... try another speaker on the output and see if anything plays. if the IC heatsink is cool...
try plugging some external computer speakers into the headphone jack (it's line out) and see if you have sound at all (you probably will here)
if you have sound out the headphone jack and everything else checks out... could be a failed amp. i've seen it a couple times. (maybe 3 times out of 100 machines) it's a standard part (like a TDA2030 or the like) and not too bad to replace. it runs about 15 or 20 bucks on sites like mouser or newark
