hello everyone, I searched here in the group, and I didn't find anything, I would like to know if it is possible to play these beautiful games in a link, both on the same pc and via lan .. ..

In Cruis n World I can't put it in manual shift. No choice option appears. The game starts directly on automatic. I already tried to solve it in the test menu but there is no option for that. Can someone help me?

The above info is no longer true. Someone else opened an issue in Mame regarding networking on this family of hardware (in reality it's a CPU mailbox bridged together similar to the Naomi multiboard system). There's even worse problems for other games that do not support LAN.

Use Cruis'n World v2.4 instead of v2.5 because the latter was developed as a conversion kit for Hyperdrive arcade cabinets. Midway programmed this version to skip the transmission select due to Hyperdrive cabs not having a shifter to begin with.

I don’t have a manual option in my Crusn World so I will have to check that out.

I added custom race leader code to Crusn USA and Cruis’n World. As soon as these are linkable I will make sure the code works for two (or 4 for World) players. I will post the code tomorrow in case anyone else wants to do this for games that don’t support it back in the day.

Just in case a Mame developer or people working on Crusn link mode see this forum post, I noticed that the dip switch settings in the Mame tab menu show question marks for the dip switch related to link lan mode. I looked at the manual and the dip switch 6 is the link lan mode and dip switch 7 is not used even though Mame acts like it may be a lan option. Dip switch 8 is the master/slave switch though.

It looks like someone started to get Crusn USA Mame linked. It’s a work in progress but that is great news. This and the R San Francisco Rush project is awesome. I wonder if gpt5 will help when it comes out help speed up the development time on linking these.

probably both as my current pull requests are in limbo for like half a year now...

also i don't think that the proof-of-concept implementation is of the required "quality" to fit in baseline mame

currently working on getting offroad challenge working... for whatever reason every single v-unit game uses a different protocol

WHAT!? This is awesome thanks so much SailorSat! This is a holy grail for me. Is this working well enough to go ahead and put on my 4 player cabinet build you think? We just need to wait for the Mame build and then change the cabinet ids like in the video?

In its current state, is it possible to link cruisn across a LAN with traditional mame arguments similar to how you link up virtua racing or is it multiple instances on one localhost only for now?

Hello everyone, what wonderful news, I downloaded the mame version, which version of the game do I have to use? Would there be a bat file or commands to send to mame? I opened the games, set it to master And save, the message appears to enable the firewall, I enable it, but the games are not linked.

My setup:
two machines on 192.168.x.x Network
Local windows firewall completely disabled
cruisnmame
Cruis'n USA 4.5
set dip switchs (2) to linked mode on/enable
Set second machine to SLAVE in dipswitch settings

thats it! I use a bat file for games like Virtua Racing but I didnt need one for this game/this version of mame.
