Championship Sprint Engine Sounds
« on: August 06, 2023, 05:36:22 pm »
I'm sure this has been asked and I have used Search, but clearly my Google-fu sucks.

I'm trying to get the engine sounds to work in Championship Sprint.  I've put the qsound.zip in my roms folder and "bios-devices" folder; I've tried to go into service mode to "enable demo sounds" but all I seem to find is tests and a way to reset the counters.  I'm on version Mame .235.  How do you enable the engine noises?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Open an editor.

Type
mame csprint >error.txt

Save as csprint.bat

This creates the file "csprint.bat". Copy this into your MAME folder.

Go to your MAME folder.
Start csprint.bat.

This should start the game. Exit the game.
Look into your MAME folder. There should be a file named "error.txt".
Open the file. It contains any error messages MAME puts out. If MAME misses some file, it should be listed there.
