Ultimarc Trackball Issues
« on: July 04, 2023, 06:22:26 pm »
Hi.

Hi, I've just connected a new Ultimarc trackball to verify that it works before I install it to the control panel. I've seen the support documentation with movie and examined the pinouts, but It seems like I don't have the same configuration. At least I haven't been able to find an exact match when it comes down to number of cables, color etc. Anyway I've got two issues connecting the trackball with USB:

1) The cursor moves only up/down. When I try to move left/right. It is still moving up and down (left is up, right is down). To summarize, four directions with the trackball moves the cursor in two directions. Any ideas?
2) The USB interface is EXTREMELY hot. The chip on top is so hot that I can barely touch it without burning my fingertip. Is this normal?

Comment: There is a green light which turns on for a millisecond when connecting it to USB. After the USB is attached the light turns off. I'm suspecting that this is not right.

I've attached two pictures which display how it is attached. Any help would be appreciated.
